The mission of the Great North Bog coalition is to restore all northern England’s remaining degraded upland peatlands by 2040 – sooner if we can. 

The Strategic Plan sets out how we will work together to achieve this mission, by: 

• increasing the pace and scale of restoration
• raising awareness of the importance of peatlands and the benefits they provide
• increasing skills and capacity for staff and contractors
• improving the evidence base for peatland restoration and conservation
• raising the necessary resources and further diversify income streams
